These advertisements will begin running soon on radio, in newspapers, magazines and on websites with the objective of attracting applicants for recruit firefighter courses later this year.
CFA is seeking to broaden its recruitment and wants to attract into its ranks more women and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. These advertisements, which are placed in various media channels, will aim to attract our key target audience − men and women between the ages of 20 and 42.
Some radio ads will run on the high rating metro and regional music stations, while others have been scheduled to run on various community stations in other languages such as Mandarin, Vietnamese, Croatian, Serbian, Arabic, Greek and Turkish.
Sinhalese, Hindi and Punjabi radio stations will feature the English language versions of the CFA recruitment advertisements.
CFA plans to add an additional 342 firefighters to its ranks over the next four years. This responds to current gaps in service delivery and the identified forecast demand in key
