The conference gave members the opportunity to hear a range of successful engagement initiatives that have worked in local communities across NSW and beyond to take back a suite of ideas to their own Brigade and region. Key note speakers included:
- Celeste Greer on ‘Community Recovery and Resilience’ in Strathewen, Vic
- Frances Crown of Canyonleigh Brigade on their ‘Women’s Fire Awareness Program’, and
- Dr Bob Murray of Fortinberry Murray on ‘Building Relationships and Creating Optimisim’
CFA attendees were selected to attend by their respective region on the great work they do in regards to their community’s safety and was funded by the Member Engagement project. The conference also included a Fright Night theme on the Friday night dinner in which the Victorian's stole the show with some fantastic costumes.
The CFA will host its own version of this event on July 14 & 15 in Creswick through the 'CFA Community Engagement and Fire Awareness Forum'.
