Bushfire info reaches parents today

CFA will be running an online bushfire information session at 1pm today tailored to help parents get prepared for bushfires.

This is the second online bushfire information session aimed at busy parents who may find themselves unable to attend a community meeting.

For a replay of today's meeting, click the window below.

According to CFA Executive Manager of Community Capability Terry Hayes, “parents have a lot to include in their bushfire survival plan and often have very little time to think about it. While we encourage anyone living in a high risk area to take part in a community meeting as a first priority, sometimes it just isn’t possible.”

“These sessions should make it a lot easier for parents to engage with us and I encourage them to set aside some time to get involved. They can ask any questions they might have and share advice with other parents – and the meetings are made available for replay afterward.”

For more information on today’s online bushfire information session and to set an email reminder, visit www.cfa.vic.gov.au/infosessions.

The next online bushfire information sessions will be held on:

  • 28 Feb (8pm)
  • 15 March (8pm)
  • 26 March (8pm)
  • 10 April (8pm)

In addition to these scheduled sessions, CFA will endeavour to run an online bushfire information session when an extreme Fire Danger Rating is forecast anywhere in the state.
