This project is developing understanding of the spot fire ignition potential of firebrands under a range of fuel and weather conditions. The results will enable fire managers to better understand the process of spotting, assist in identifying when spotting will be a hazard and provide a basis for predicting its occurrence and maximum distance.
The Fire Note can viewed on the Bushfire CRC site.
This project is part of the larger project on Fire development, transitions and suppression, described in Fire Note 94.
