In honour of celebrating its 75th anniversary of serving the community, Drouin Fire Brigade led the town's annual Ficifola Street Parade.

A crowd of more than 2000 gathered in the main street as the rain held off to support the parade which also consisted of school, community and business groups. The organiser, Cameron Gray called the festival "Fantastic". The festival started in 1989 following Australian bicentennial celebrations

Led by the captain of 28 years, John Atkins, Drouin Fire Brigade headed up the Ficifolia Street Parade through Drouin. More than 20 active members marched the street followed by members of the combined Drouin-Bunyip running team with vehicles from Drouin and supporting brigades driven behind the brigade procession.

The brigade is also planning a formal dinner and presentation night on 14 July to celebrate its 75th anniversary. Captain Atkins said he is very proud to lead a committed group of people through the brigade's Diamond Anniversary and is looking forward to the dinner.
