The Boisdale Brigade had a training day at the Boisdale Consolidated School on Sunday 20 May.

Instructed by firefighter Stuart Sim, the 11 members tested out their skills and used the exercise to familiarise themselves with the school layout. This will assist the brigade if there is a fire on the school grounds.

Phil Sim, firefighter and 1st Lieutenant of the brigade, said “this training is very important for our members to put their knowledge and skills into practice. It will help us prepare for an incident at the school and gives us a chance to develop our pre plans together”.

Boisdale brigade is currently writing Pre Incident Plans for local premises, which includes the Consolidated School.

The training exercise held on Sunday will assist in the completion of the pre plan for the school. Once the pre plan has been finished, the brigade will be able to test out the plan to make sure the members are ready to respond if there is an incident at the school.
