Body found after grass fire

The body of a man was discovered by CFA crews after they extinguished a grass fire in Fentons Creek, north west of Bendigo yesterday afternoon (Sun June 10 2012).

Crews responded to a grass fire at Curnows Road in Fentons Creek shortly after 3pm.

Police are investigating the cause of the man's death but it is believed he was burning off at his holiday home property when he was overcome or fell into the fire.

Police are carrying out an investigation but there are no suspicious circumstances. A Critical Incident Stress team conducted a debrief at the scene for crews involved.

Attending vehicles / crew: Berrimal Tanker, fentons Creek Tanker, St Arnaud Tanker, Wedderburn Tanker, Woosang Tanker, District 20 Ops Car.
