Bendigo celebrates Easter

The Bendigo Easter Festival is the oldest community festival in Australia, with it's roots dating back to 1870.

And there hasn't been many instances where the CFA haven't been involved in their annual torchlight either.

2012 was no exception, with brigades from in and around Bendigo taking part in the huge procession through the streets of Bendigo, winding it's way through many thousands of spectators who braved the chilly night air to clap them on.

Easter Sunday's festival procession was a hit too with local brigades, as well as the Central Victoria Fire Service Preservation Society bringing out some of the historical vehicles to show.

Great pictures Blair. Torchlight processions are notoriously hard to shoot - a moving target, not enough light, hot spots everywhere...
