Crews from Ballarat City, Ballarat and Wendouree were called to reports of a house well alight in Nelson Street.
It took them 10 minutes to bring under control. A man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

A home has been extensively damaged and a person suffered smoke inhalation following a housefire at Ballarat East around 3.30pm Monday 24 September.
