Alexandra Truck Show

Alexandra Fire Brigade, with the support of Wandin and Dandenong Brigades, had four fire trucks on display at this year's Alexandra Truck Show.

Story by Alex Caughey, Alexandra member:

Each year we endeavour to display something special from CFA and this year we were pleased to have Wandin Fire Brigades Rescue vehicle and Dandenong Fire Brigades POD vehicle (Should we be calling it Thunderbird 1? For those that can remember that far back Thunderbirds led the way and set the standard for emergency response using POD technology.)

Attracting a crowd of tens of thousands who come to see a wide variety of trucks, heavy tracked machinery plus hundreds of show and shine collectors cars and utes, the show gives CFA an opportunity to show off some of its special vehicles. In the past this has included concept tankers, a Bronto platform truck and Haschem response truck.

Alexandra brigade extends its thanks to the visiting crews from Wandin and Dandenong for giving up their time to attend and District 12 Ops Officer Charlie Cleary for finding the “special” CFA vehicles.

Only 363 days till the next show, we had better get looking for some more special CFA vehicles and crews!
