New Performance and Strategy Team

Bruce Russell Published in Untagged  by Bruce Russell
I am pleased to announce the new Performance and Strategy Team which will commence formally on Monday 6 February, 2012.

The Performance and Strategy team brings into line a key part of Creating Our Future Together. Changes to our organisational structure are about enhancing our fire & emergency management support, building capacity, and positioning CFA into the future.

The team will incorporate the following sub-teams:

  • Legal Services
  • Performance and Assurance
  • Research and Strategy
  • Project Management Capability
  • Governance

The new team will hold a three-hour introduction session this afternoon, 3 February. Here we will workshop what we would like to achieve as a team and ensure our objectives are aligned.

We will keep you posted on the outcome of this introduction session.

Cheers,

Bruce Russell

Acting Executive Director

Performance and Strategy

Any information available on team make up and how the Districts will be represented on this team ? Will there be any volunteer representation on the team ? Will VFBV be represented ? If we are "Creating our future together", it makes sense for these sections of the authority to be represented also.

Since mid 2011 there has been extensive consultation in designing the Performance & Strategy Team. A Regional Director sat on the Design Team and also on all reviews. Likewise VFBV has been consulted in every step of the changes. As we go forward VFBV is involved with the creation of all new policies and amendments to existing policies. They are consulted in matters involving compliance and risk management. There are also a number of fora including Board Committees where VFBV currently provides input to the decision making in the Performance & Strategy team and CFA more widely.

Performance & Strategy Team members are acutely aware of the need to involve volunteers and the VFBV not only because of the legislative requirements recognizing the Volunteer Charter but also because CFA recognizes the contribution and values the input of volunteers.

With that in mind, Performance & Strategy Team combines the efforts of Legal Services, Performance & Assurance, Project Management Office and Research & Strategy. Our services are designed to support Fire & Emergency Management and the Volunteers. I am confident therefore that there are a broad range of inputs to the Performance & Strategy Team and that those inputs broadly represent all facets of CFA.
