Invincibility

Ok your invincible or at least you thought you were

It may have seemed a good idea at the time

Only a short time ago you and your best friend/mate/girlfriend was having a great time some one suggested you go for a joy ride

The keys are where they always are

Mum and Dad trust you they will never know

You knew you shouldn't but hey your invincible nothing's going happen to you

Some how your in a car going way to fast

You don't know what happens next but I can tell you

You've been skylarking and lost control  the power pole has halted your journey suddenly and violently it really doesn't matter what happens from now on your dead

Your best friend/mate/girlfriend is critically injured trapped in the wreckage  a passer by calls 000

Your good idea now brings with it a whole new range of actions

People you have never meet are being called to respond to your accident

Volunteer members of the CFA only moments before where about to sit down for dinner with their family have been summoned by the shrill pager

Your idea of fun has disrupted the lives of  50+ people you have never meet.

Not only those people on the way to clean up the mess you have created  but others who have responded that didn't make the trucks

The Police are redirected from a domestic dispute to the crash scene an ambulance that should have been going to to a sick child are  now on the way to assist.

People now have to deal with the aftermath some are traumatized by what they see only they don't know it yet

The rescue crew cut your best friend/mate/girlfriend from the wreckage they are transported to hospital and will survive yet they will be haunted by that night for the rest of their lives. Yes they will visit your grave but over the years they will come less often.

The young Police Officer now has to break the news to your Parents who were looking forward to watching you grow up your mother and father will never get over it.

Your brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, friends, teachers and workmates will miss you and search for an answer that only you know the answer to and that is.    Why?

So for those of you able to make the choice please make the right one by all means enjoy yourselves but please don't make a decision that will affect the lives of people you have never meet

I know I would rather stay home with my family and you with yours
